Explainer videos

This page contains four explainers that gives you a shorter introduction as an overview to topis and materials in the Urge knowledgebase; Ecosocial Work, The Vision Method explained, Advocacy, and Ecosocial Work in Practice. Explainer films are suitable for supporting education in some of the more philosophical and methodological topics of the project. A complex issue or theme is summarized into core content in 2-10 minutes. Explainers are useful when you want to reduce complex content to more ‘digestible bites’ for target audiences. The films work especially well in combination with other materials and classroom activities.

Advocacy - An example from Design Arbeit

This explainer introduces DesignArbeid, an Amsterdam-based social design organisation. Through its work in the neighborhood, the video invites viewers to explore how art, design and participation can create opportunities for dialogue, strengthen residents’ voices and contribute to community-based advocacy.

Ecosocial work in practice

In this explainer you will see different examples of social workers engaging in ecosocial work practices in the city. Examples of how sustainability can be a focus within the social work and services that already exist, when different disciplines and sectors work together.
